acai - pronounced ah-sigh, from south america, acai and it's skin-boosting benefits are worth taking note of. research shows that this beauty berry has 500% more antioxidants than blueberries! acai contains essential fats, high amounts of vitamin c and e to brighten skin as well as minerals, such as potassium and calcium, b vitamins, and a healthy amount of fibre.
almonds - we use raw, organic almonds as well as organic almond milk in many of our blends. we "activate" our almonds by soaking them first, which helps to make it easier for our bodies to digest their goodness. almonds are rich in vitamin e, calcium, magnesium, riboflavin, niacin and potassium. they are high in protein and healthy fats, making them not only an amazing beauty food but essential brain and heart nutrition too.
aloe vera juice - a natural aid for healthy digestion with a long list of benefits such as glowing skin, anti-inflammation, immunity boost, heart health and helping to alkalise the body. aloe vera juice is high in vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, E, niacin and folic acid. it also contains chromium, magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper, potassium, iron, sodium, and calcium. because it can have a slight laxative effect, we recommend only one serving of aloe vera juice a day, especially for children.

apricots - a rich source of beta-carotene and vitamin a, the essential vitamin for skin and eye health. apricots are also high in vitamin c, copper, dietary fibre and potassium. we use organic, sulfite free dried apricots for peak taste and quality.

banana - one of our fave foods at g.o. bananas are rich in potassium, which helps regulate proper fluid levels in the body. they are high in vitamin c, fibre, vitamin b6, as well as magnesium, which may help promote better sleeping patterns. we use very ripe bananas in our blends as they have a more alkaline effect on the body. the ultimate energy food!
blueberries - contain a very special group of antioxidants called carotenoids and flavonoids; vitamins a, c and e, and selenium, zinc and phosphorus which are wonderful for skin and eyes. blueberries have the highest level of antioxidants known for fresh fruit, apart from maqui and acai, which are only grown in south america, so very hard to get fresh. blueberries also contain b vitamins for energy along with copper and iron. high in fibre and relatively low in sugar.
brazil nuts - although technically a seed, we love brazils for their high selenium content, a vital mineral for human health. they also contain significant amounts of magnesium, phosphorus and thiamine, and very rich in protein and dietary fibre. we activate our brazils by soaking them and rinsing before blending so your body can digest them easier. they are little power-houses of nutrients and essential fatty acids which you only need 1 or 2 of to reach your daily selenium requirements.

cacao + cacao nibs - pronounced ka-kow, the cacao bean has been grown in mesoamerica for over 2,000 years. it's said that the seeds were so valued by the mayans and aztecs that they were once used as a form of currency! cacao is one of our fave superfoods ranking high on the list of mega-nutrient status. with high levels of vitamins a, b1, b2, c, d and e, and minerals calcium, potassium, sodium, and iron. it is an excellent source of magnesium which helps to produce serotonin, which is the feel good hormone...so yes, it's true, chocolate may make you happy, to be precise, cacao may make you happy.
calming tea - a relaxing blend of chamomile flower, lemon balm, and spearmint, we love this combo for calming the nerves and relaxing after a full and busy day.

cardamom - an ancient indian spice, commonly used in ayurvedic medicine and therapies. cardamom has been shown to have possible positive effects on digestion, detoxification, blood pressure, oral health, anti-inflammation, and blood-sugar regulation.

carrot - one of the planets richest sources of beta-carotene (the pre-curser for vitamin a), carrots are wonderful for healthy skin and eyes. vitamin a is essential for luscious hair and vibrant skin. natural healers believe that carrots have strong cleansing properties that are effective in detoxifying the liver.
cashew nuts - native to equatorial south america, are actually seeds, found growing on the end of the cashew apple, an edible and nutrient rich south american treat. cashew nuts have a fatty acid profile that contributes to good health through phytosterols, tocopherols, and sqaulene, all of which lower the risk of heart disease, combined with the nut’s 0% cholesterol content. rich in magnesium and antioxidants, as well as being great at regulating blood-sugar levels. we use raw, organic almonds and soak them first to help you digest them easier.
cayenne pepper - a spice with kick, we use cayenne in our unique cleansing elixir, sunrise. cayenne is said to stimulate the circulatory system by opening the capillaries, aiding digestion, and helping to regulate blood sugar. furthermore, and very importantly, it increases the temperature of your body and kick-starts your metabolism, which, may help you to lose weight over time.

cavolo nero - one of our fave dark, leafy greens, cavolo nero packs a chlorophyll delivering punch. a member of the kale family, cavolo nero is a great source of lutein, vitamins k, a and c as well as significant amounts of manganese, copper, fibre, calcium, iron, the b vitamins and many other elements. slightly milder in taste to kale, we partner the two up for maximum benefits.
chia seeds - for such a tiny little dot, (similar size to poppy seeds), even we are constantly amazed at the talents of chia! a staple of the ancient aztec's, it's said that one tablespoon of this highly nutrient-dense seed could provide enough energy for a warrior's day! one of the richest, most dense sources of plant sourced omega 3 and also provides omega 6 in the ideal 1:3 ratio. high in fibre, protein and boron and they help the body retain fluids and electrolytes. they also slow the conversion of carbohydrates to sugars which is why you'll find them in so many of our blends.
cinnamon - a very humble and often under-rated ancient spice. chinese medicine and ayurveda have long revered cinnamon as a superpower used to treat things such as colds, indigestion and cramps and also believed it to improve energy, vitality and circulation. a wonderful agent for lowering blood-sugar levels, lowering bad cholesterol, as well as tasting delicious!
cloves - with similar benefits to cinnamon and a comforting, warming flavour. cloves are said to be great at lowering and stabilising blood-sugar levels, as well as helping to lower cholesterol. another ancient ayurvedic favorite.

coconut - there's not much to not love about coconuts! not only are they fantastic for our insides, they are just as magic for our skin too. it's claimed that coconut holds strong anti-viral properties, making it a wonderful immunity food. we use dried, organic coconut as well as coconut water. desiccated coconut contains high quality protein, vitamin a and minerals. a great source of fibre, iron and manganese as well as being rich in vitamin c and amino acids while being low in natural sugars. coconut water is high in b vitamins and minerals sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, phosphorus, and sulphur.

lemon juice - we cold-press our organic lemons to obtain maximum juice and nutritional properties. lemon is said to be the ultimate alkaliser for the body as well as saving the delectable shades of green in some of our blends and a natural preservative. if you want clear, glowing skin, make sure lemons are part of your daily diet. lemon may aid with digestion and support healthy liver function. lemon is high in vitamin c and travels easily through your body, destroying free radicals and toxins. an integral part of our cleanse system is our lemon elixir, sunrise. when combined with warm, boiled water, it may deliver a potent way to alkalise and detoxify the body.
lucuma - pronounced loo-ku-mah, this sweet fruit of the lucuma tree with its rich, cream, orange and yellow pulp has been cultivated since ancient times. native to the highlands of peru, chile and equador, lucuma is an excellent source of carbohydrates, fibre, vitamins and minerals, with beta-carotene, niacin and iron.
maca - is a root vegetable from the radish family, grown at high altitude in the peruvian andes. it has been domesticated by the incas for 2,000 years and popular through peruvian history as an energising and revitalising food that enhances strength, endurance, immunity, and reproductive health in both men and women. while maca contains high amounts of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, complex carbohydrates, essential fatty acids, fibre, amino acids and nearly 60 phytochemicals, its biggest health benefits are mainly due to its unique alkaloids which may improve the functioning of the entire endocrine system. maca is magic!

maqui - pronounced mah-kee and coined "the ultimate super fruit", maqui has astonishing levels (the highest ever) of antioxidants, with an ORAC score somewhere between 75,000 - 95,000 (approx 1600% more powerful than blueberries and even higher than acai). in addition, maqui has the highest level of health-supporting phenolic compounds. maqui may be fantastic for glowing skin, immune function, detoxification and heart health.
mesquite - pronounced mes-keet and high in protein and fibre, and rich in lysine, calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and zinc. mesquite can be found in arid areas such as parts of south america and the southwestern u.s. some studies have shown that mesquite may be highly effective in balancing blood sugar levels.

spirulina - is a blue-green algae found in both fresh and salt water. it thrives in naturally mineral-rich alkaline lakes in hot climates with lots of sunshine. hundreds of years ago it was valued by africans, and the mayan and aztec cultures in mexico as a staple food. spirulina's microscopic single-celled spiral coiled shape holds a rich concentration of easily assimilated complete proteins, (including all essential amino acids), antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, including gla, nucleic acids, chlorophyll, carotenoids and other phytonutrients. a high percentage of protein, b12 and iron, spirulina may be beneficial for inflammation, immunity, women's health, and healthy thyroid function.
